Our mission is to create the next-generation hardware for chemical technology processes, starting with electrochemical conversion of CO2 to green hydrocarbons. We aim to create hardware technology that provides the necessary tools to revolutionize power-to-X and carbon capture technologies through quick analysis and testing.
We are currently focusing on developing a laboratory research instrument for electrochemistry, a field that will enable the energy transition and shift from use of fossil fuels to green, sustainable fuels and chemicals coming from renewable energy sources.
The LIQUIDLOOP team develops an all-encompassing hardware-software mass spectrometry analysis system, offering a real-time and precise chemical detection and identification of volatile liquid and gas products from a liquid, made possible by our patented “Product-to-Gas interface” technology.
Our history:
LIQUIDLOOP technology reveals a unique approach for real-time chemical monitoring due to many years of development. Founded in 2021, LIQUIDLOOP is the first exclusive liquid real-time detection company focusing entirely on the carbon-neutral fuels research. In 2022 LIQUIDLOOP set up production of its first devices and delivered them to academic customers. As of today, the LIQUIDLOOP product portfolio counts already with four commercialised product
We are looking for a technically skilled and hands-on Software & Electronics Engineer to join our growing team at LIQUIDLOOP. This is a full-time role based in Berlin, where you will work at the intersection of software development, electronics integration, and laboratory automation. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining LabVIEW-based control software, supporting electronics assembly, and integrating our scientific devices into customer environments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, building reliable systems, and contributing to the development of high-performance instruments in the field of electrochemistry and analytical technology.
Responsibilities

Develop and maintain LabVIEW software for control and automation of scientific instrumen.

Support integration of devices into customer laboratories, including custom software modules and interface configuration.

Assemble and test electronic components, including sensors, cables, valves, and control units.

Troubleshoot and debug hardware-software interactions during production and device validation.

Contribute to data analysis tools by supporting backend development (Java) and user logic for experiment processing.
Must Have

Strong experience in LabVIEW software development for instrumentation or automation

Solid understanding of electronics assembly, wiring, and PCB-level troubleshooting

Familiarity with sensor integration, PLC communication, and analog/digital I/O systems

Ability to work across software and hardware teams with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset
- Professional communication skills in English; German is a strong advantage
Nice to have

Experience with customer-specific LabVIEW adaptations and user interface design

Proficiency in Odoo ERP (Inventory, Purchase, and Project modules)
- Basic knowledge of experimental data analysis and scientific instrumentation
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across hardware-software systems
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining LabVIEW-based software for the control and automation of LIQUIDLOOP devices.
- Supporting the integration of our systems into customer laboratory setups through tailored software and hardware configurations.
- Assembling, wiring, and testing electronic components, including sensors, valves, and control boards, for production and validation.
- Assisting with troubleshooting and debugging of electronic and electromechanical assemblies during testing and final quality control.
- Contributing to the development of Java-based data analysis tools for experimental result processing and reporting.
- Managing procurement and inventory of electronic components by coordinating with suppliers and tracking parts using Odoo ERP.
- Supporting the prototyping and development of new electronics for next-generation product lines in collaboration with the R&D team.
- Documenting software versions, test procedures, and production configurations to ensure traceability and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Experience working in hardware companies, scientific instrumentation, or R&D-focused environments, ideally in the field of analytical or laboratory devices
- Strong background in software development (LabVIEW) and hands-on electronics integration, testing, and troubleshooting
- Solid understanding of sensor systems, PLC communication, and control architectures in embedded or lab systems
- A structured and solution-driven mindset with the ability to balance development tasks with production support needs
- Business fluency in English; German proficiency is a strong advantage, particularly for coordination with local suppliers and documentation
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team across software, hardware, and operations
